Drapers Independent Awards Raises £1,700 to fund essential item grants

Yesterday the prestigious Drapers Independents Awards helped to raise £1,700 to fund essential items for disadvantaged children.

Guests included companies from across the UK and Ireland’s Independent Fashion Retail Industry. As charity partner for the event, we hosted a charity raffle with three luxury prizes, generously donated by our sponsors Brora, Firmdale Hotels and The White Company.

How the funds will help

Here at the Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust we believe that every child should have the chance to thrive. Our grants fund a variety of essential items and each is tailored to suit the family and child's individual needs. The funds raised at yesterday's event will go directly towards funding more grants to help to provide essential items for children living without the things they need to thrive.

£1,700 can fund is the equivalent of 4 bed and desk bundles for children like Naomi and Vanessa, whose story we shared at the awards.

We want to say a huge thanks to our student volunteers, Tolu, Chiara, Aaliyah and Vedansha (pictured below) who gave their time to help you to participate in our raffle. Their professionalism, enthusiasm and passion for FTCT was infectious and we are so grateful to them for their help.

We hope all the raffle winners enjoy their prizes and thank everyone else for their huge generosity.

We would also like to mention a huge thank you to acting Drapers editor Gabriele Dirvanauskas and her team for their ongoing support. It is a huge honor to be Drapers' charity partner and we are already excited to be back at the Drapers Main Awards in November.
