FTCT provides grants to support children in families connected to the UK fashion and textile industry. More jobs and employers qualify than you might think, so it's always worth checking.

Who we help

We support parents and carers who are facing financial pressure. Whether things have changed recently or have been difficult for a while, we're here to help when it's needed most. More about this criteria. 

Grants can help with everyday essentials like clothing, beds, and appliances — as well as specialist equipment, mobility aids, and therapy for children with additional needs. Find out more about what we fund. 

You may be eligible if:

✓ You are the parent or carer of a child aged 0–18

✓ You work, or have worked, in the UK fashion or textile industry for at least 6months in the past 9 years. Check you employment qualifies.

✓ Your family is currently facing financial pressure

Your industry connection

The fashion and textile industry includes high-street clothing shops, textile companies and manufacturers, laundries and laundrettes, logistics for clothing companies and more.

Your financial situation

Our grants support families who are struggling financially. This might be due to a sudden loss of income or change in family circumstances. 

Parents usually apply if they are facing one of the following situations:

  • You are in arrears with your household bills, have debt issues

  • You are caring for a child or family member with ill health or additional needs

  • You have been made redundant

  • Your employer has reduced your contracted hours of work

  • You have recently suffered a relationship breakdown, separation or divorce 

  • You are signed off work sick or have a long term illness

  • You are facing homelessness or have recently had to move home

  • You are a kinship carer

  • You have suffered the bereavement of a close family member

What we fund

Our grants fund children's essential items including: 
  • Children's clothing

  • Children's bedroom furniture

  • Essential appliances, washing machine, fridge, oven

  • Mobility equipment

  • Sensory Toys

  • Therapies
