As colder months approach, we know that paying bills can be a real worry. In our April survey, 50% of respondents said their top concern was whether they could cover their bills that month. Here’s some practical advice to help reduce your costs and access support.
Can I Lower My Bills?
  • If you're struggling with energy bills, contact your supplier. Legally, they must help set up an affordable payment plan.
  • Internet costs can sometimes be reduced to under £10 per month with social tariffs. Check if you're eligible here.
  • Council Tax discounts may apply depending on your household. Read more from Citizens Advice here.
Can I Get Help to Pay My Bills?
  • The British Gas Energy Trust offers grants for gas and electricity debts. Find out more here.
  • The Warm Home Discount Scheme provides a £150 one-off discount on electricity bills for those in England, Wales, and Scotland (apply if you're in Scotland). Find out more here.
