On Saturday 25th January, Ozzi is braving the elements to walk 42km in aid of the Fashion & Textile Children's Trust. Read about Ozzi's special connection with our charity and why she needs your support. 

Ozzi first contacted our charity back in October 2024, after a long Google search to find the Trust. Back in the 1990's Ozzi and her two sisters were supported by FTCT grants, after their father passed away and their Mum needed some extra support. 

After signing up to complete the Ultra Challenge Walking Marathon with her friends -a thrilling 42km trek around the river Thames- Ozzi knew she wanted to raise funds for a cause close to her heart. Plus, now that Ozzi is working as an Account Manager at Phoenox Textiles- a UK based rug manufacturer- Ozzi felt that FTCT ticked all of the boxes. 

Ozzi's route

Ozzi's Ultra Marathon is a 42 km (26mile) looped walk, starting & finishing at The Oval Cricket Ground in Vauxhall. The route heads east along the Thames with a Rest Stop in Surrey Quays. Then it’s back along the  north bank of the Thames for lunch at the Oval. The 2nd loop heads west with a Rest Stop in Parsons Green, and back to The Oval for a loud finish line welcome.

The event is strictly a walking event, with no running or jogging allowed.
