If you're working in the UK fashion and textile industry and struggling to cover the cost of essentials for your children, the Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust may be able to help.

We offer grants to parents and carers facing financial hardship. Our grants can help with the cost of school uniforms, shoes, essential appliances, children's furniture, sensory toys, and more.

Could you apply for a FTCT grant?

You may be eligible for a grant if you work or have recently worked for a fashion or textile employer and are caring for a child under 18.

We help parents in many situations, including:
  • Financial hardship due to job loss, illness or bereavement
  • Families who are rehoused after homelessness or unsafe living conditions
  • Low-income households struggling with long-term financial hardship

FTCT grants never need to be repaid. They’re a gift to help your family through difficult times.

What can a FTCT grant help with?

Our grants cover essential items for children, such as:

  • Children's clothing
  • Children's bedroom furniture
  • Essential appliances, washing machine, fridge, oven
  • Mobility equipment
  • Sensory Toys
  • Therapies

How it works

1. Use our online enquiry form to check if you're eligible.

2. If you meet our eligibility criteria, complete our full application form and return it with your supporting documents.

3. We’ll review your application and get in touch if we need more info.

4. If your application is successful, we’ll send the grant directly to you, so you can buy the essentials you need. 

5. Return the original purchase receipts to us within 4 weeks of the grant being issued.
