Moving to a new home after domestic abuse can be overwhelming, especially for children who may suddenly be without their own bed, storage, or daily essentials.

At FTCT, we believe every child deserves a safe, comfortable space to thrive. Our grants help families create a stable home environment while they regain security and rebuild their lives.

If you’re a parent facing the challenges of rehousing, here’s how we can support you.

Could you apply for a rehousing grant?

You may be eligible for a grant if you work or have recently worked for a fashion or textile employer and are caring for a child under 18.

FTCT grants are a gift, not a loan. They’re designed to lift a little weight off your family’s shoulders in challenging times.

We help parents in many situations, including:

  • Financial hardship due to job loss, illness or bereavement
  • Families who are rehoused after homelessness or unsafe living conditions
  • Low-income households struggling with long-term financial hardship
Am I eligible to apply?

To apply for a grant, you must have worked for an eligible UK fashion and textile employer for at least one year within the last nine years.

Real stories
We were delighted to help this young family feel more settled as they waited for a safe new home. Here, the mum bravely shares their story, which touches on her experience with domestic abuse.

“I have a long story of domestic abuse and financial control. My ex-partner disappeared, and took everything including my car. I am completely alone in this country and because of my situation, I had no friends to help.”

“I used all money I had to buy a car, but we needed other things to help with daily life. Our temporary accommodation has basics, but not everything is in good condition. We also needed a car seat for my child. When you need so many little things all at once, it’s too much.”

“Now, with thanks to the grant, we have nice things of our own, like a kettle, a set of pans, spare bedding for my child’s bed and a new car seat, to keep them safe. I even bought one they can flex and grow into, so it will last for years to come.” - parent who received an FTCT grant
