Therapy Grants For Children Last updated: January 2026 If your child needs therapeutic support, an FTCT Therapy Grant could help cover the cost of a wide range of therapy services tailored to their physical health, emotional wellbeing and learning needs Check if you're eligible Make an enquiry To apply for a grant, you must have worked for an eligible UK fashion and textile employer for 1+ years, within the last nine years. Please read through the information below and on the following pages, to make sure we are the right charity for your family before you apply. Who can apply? Our grants are aimed at families who are experiencing financial hardship and cannot afford therapy costs themselves. Parents often apply when: There’s been a loss or reduction of income You’re in arrears with bills or debt You’re coping with ill health, long‑term illness or caring responsibilities You’ve recently been made redundant or are off work sick You’ve experienced bereavement, separation, or changes in family circumstances You’re a kinship carer facing financial pressure Not sure if your role counts? Our charity supports the children of people in the UK fashion and textiles industry. This includes companies working with clothing, footwear, soft furnishings or fabrics. Check our qualifying employers list If you have never worked for a UK fashion or textile company, unfortunately we won't be the right charity for you. Therapies we fund FTCT’s Therapy Grants can contribute towards professionally‑led therapy services, chosen specifically to meet your child’s individual needs, including: Speech & Language Therapy Physiotherapy Psychotherapy (e.g. counselling or talking therapies) Play Therapy Art Therapy Music Therapy Our therapy grants are designed to support children facing challenges such as: Learning and developmental needs Physical or mobility difficulties Speech and language delays Behavioural or emotional difficulties Effects of trauma, bereavement or psychological stress Sensory and processing issues At the application stage, you'll need to provide proof of your work in fashion or textiles, such as payslips or tax documents, a recent bank statement to show household income and expenditure, as well as child benefit and all other benefits the family receive. Payment for specialist equipment and therapy grants will be paid directly to the service provider, following receipt of an invoice. If you are also awarded a grant for other items, these funds are paid directly to you. Frequently asked questions Do I have to pay the grant back? No. FTCT grants are provided as a gift to help families during difficult times and do not need to be repaid. Is a formal diagnosis required? Yes. Supporting documentation from a recognised UK health professional is required. How quickly can I get help? Our current turnaround time for a grant is 4 weeks, once all forms and documents have been received.
